Tashika Gomes is the founder and creative director of the Virago Studio, which is a creative agency for women and minorities, and the Virago Magazine which was recently voted in Feedspot’s top ten online magazines for women. As a first generation immigrant and woman-identifying minority, she’s motivated by a desire to help drive change for underrepresented groups in society. As a brand consultant, writer and entrepreneur, Gomes is passionate about helping women reach their fullest potential. Her goal is to help empower, inspire and equip entrepreneurs to get to that next stage in their life.
At the 17th Generation Z Hamilton networking event, Gomes shared her inspiring business journey of quitting a secure nine-to-five job to pursue her passion as an entrepreneur, and the lesson of simplicity she’s learned after selling 90 per cent of her belongings to live on a small boat with her partner in Toronto.
